Field47 is a structured web directory — a catalogue of 832 indexed websites organised across 22 subject sections. The directory was assembled to offer an alternative to algorithmic search: a human-curated index where each entry has been placed deliberately, reviewed for accessibility, and assigned to the section that best represents its primary trade or service.
The name reflects the project's origin as a field index — a working reference document, updated in the field rather than compiled in retrospect. Like a well-kept card catalogue, Field47 aims to be specific rather than comprehensive, useful rather than exhaustive, and organised rather than sprawling.
The 22 sections of the directory span the breadth of commercial and informational web activity: from healthcare practitioners and legal counsel to wagering houses, culinary services, and technology platforms. Each section contains between five and 189 entries, depending on the volume of catalogued sites in that area.
New sites can be submitted at no charge using the submission form. Submitted sites are reviewed before being added to the index, and approved entries are assigned to the most relevant section by the curator. Field47 does not charge for inclusion and does not accept payment in exchange for editorial placement.
The directory is maintained as a public reference resource. Visitors are welcome to browse, submit sites, and use the index as a starting point for research across any of the 22 catalogued subject areas.
